How do I stop my dog from using the bathroom in her kennel at night?

I have a 4 1/2 old puppy who sleeps in a kennel at night. Some nights she won’t go in it, but a majority of them she will. She only does it at night and not when we are at work. We have tried everything (changing her eating habits, taking her out more, making the cage smaller ect…) Anyone have any ideas?
